I don't write much on here. Heck, I don't write much period besides the academic drivel I am obligated to produce on a regular basis. For those who are familiar with my motives, me writing out of the blue must mean something is up.
There have been things burning up in my head for a while now. Some of it meaningless, some of it actually relevant. I am currently attempting to find a means to purchase my own domain, something that I have dreamed of obtaining for a long time now - think high school folks. The reason being is that I've always felt that, much like many people these days, I have a second life on the web. Whether that life is Brown Rug the Spartan, Xandrothan of the Shattered Sun or simply Matt the blogger, it is a presence nevertheless that must be accommodated in some form or another. Each except for the last of the three have a home that feels somewhat right, whether that be on a Myspace-esque community website or in an Inn in Shattrath City, there is something there that I can call home whenever I am finished.
As Blogspot has been good to me for the relatively short period of time that I've relocated here since the days of Xanga, it never quite felt like home. For those very few who still know me, I've had a history of maintaining my own personal blog before I turned to commercial blog services. Back then it felt right. I was not constrained in terms of how my text looked, how my space looked. It felt like home. After years of neglecting the world of blogging, this rekindling of somehow allowing the one or two individuals who sporadically come to fulfill their voyeuristic desires is attempting a comeback. I've learned that despite the complications within the academic world, the technological wonders that take your mind away from the real issues in life and the things that force you to withdraw from daily living, there needs to be an outlet for this madness.
When this project will come to fruition is unknown. I hope it comes to pass. I really do.
More to come, hopefully.
